László Mednyánszky originally studied engineering before continuing his artistic training at the Munich Academy and later at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, followed by a study trip to Italy. His international recognition was strengthened by his 1897 solo exhibition in Paris, and he also played an active role in founding the Szolnok artists’ colony in 1902.
