Bene Géza studied at the Academy of Fine Arts under Vaszary János and Olgyay Viktor. In the late 1920s, alongside his landscape paintings, he created neoclassical still lifes and interiors. His later landscapes, influenced by the works of Gadányi Jenő and Barcsay Jenő, always maintained a deep connection to nature. His primary inspiration came from the Szentendre area, where his works were marked by both robust solidity and lyricism. In 1980, the Hungarian National Gallery held a retrospective exhibition of his life’s work.
