Lajos Fonó (1889–1951) was a Hungarian painter. His style bridged Impressionism and Post-Impressionism, and he was particularly known for his landscapes and portraits. Fonó’s work was characterized by the subtlety of his color and light handling, as well as fine yet assertive line work. His paintings often explored the close relationship between nature and humanity, inspired by plein-air painting and a deep respect for the living natural world.
