Françoise Gall studied at the School of Fine Arts in Cluj, the Nagybánya artists’ colony, and the Accademia delle Belle Arti in Rome, later refining her Impressionist technique in Paris in the studio of André Devambez. She was awarded a silver medal at the 1946 Salon des Indépendants in Paris and permanently settled in the French capital after the war.
