He was born in Alsókubin, and as a child, after losing his parents, he moved with his family to the Pécskő Romani settlement near Salgótarján, where they lived in a self-made hut under difficult conditions. At the age of 66, in 1971, he began painting, and although he only had eight years to create, his works, with their impressive originality and unique perspective, capture the cultural heritage, mysticism, and life spirit of the Romani people, blending them with Hungarian cultural influences.
