Alfréd Lakos studied at the Budapest School of Fine Arts and later in Munich under Simon Hollósy. He began his career with illustrations and caricatures, but later focused entirely on painting, exhibiting regularly at the Hall of Art (Műcsarnok) and the National Salon in Hungary.
