Luigi Kasimir was an Austro-Hungarian printmaker and painter, born in what is now Ptuj, Slovenia. Trained at the Vienna Academy of Art, he became a pioneer of color etching, developing techniques that integrated color directly into the printing process rather than hand-coloring afterward.
