He graduated from the Teachers’ Training College in Székelykeresztúr in 1932. Between 1938 and 1942 he studied at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts in Budapest, where his mentor was the renowned sculptor Zsigmond Kisfaludi Strobl.

In 1944 he worked at the Epreskert Artists’ Colony in Budapest alongside Ferenc Medgyessy. Early in his career, between 1945 and 1947, he worked as a teacher in Tarcsafalva and Korond.

From 1949 to 1953 he taught modeling at the Cluj-Napoca University of Fine Arts. After 1953 he opened his own studio in Cluj-Napoca, where he continued his independent artistic work.
