Sándor Turmayer was a painter who studied at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts in Budapest. From 1925, he worked for two years alongside Imre Révész in Kecskemét, an important period in his artistic development. From 1911 onwards, he regularly exhibited at the Műcsarnok and the National Salon, where his works gained wider recognition. His art often reflects scenes of urban life and the atmosphere of Budapest.
