Tihamér Gyarmathy (Pécs, 1915 – Budapest, 2005) became a leading figure in Hungarian abstract and European modern art through his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts and extensive travels across Western Europe. His works were showcased both as a founding member of the Gallery of the Four Directions and in international exhibitions.
