Tóth Menyhért studied at the Academy of Fine Arts between 1930 and 1935, then returned to his native village, Miskolc. From 1945 to 1958, he made a living through agricultural work and house painting, which delayed his second solo exhibition for 27 years. Despite being an active member of the Tokaj artists' colony, the Bajai painters’ group, and a founder of the Hajós creative camp, he lived and worked in relative isolation. His legacy is preserved at the Kecskemét Gallery.
